It is not technique driven, but a collaborative process, the aim is to assist you to meet your personal goals. It is informed by evidence based psychological therapies. Whilst I frequently use these therapies as appropriate, I am guided by Bowen Family Systems theory and practice as the underpinning approach. Children are seen only if a parent attends appointments and is willing to engage in the therapy process.
Anyone can refer, including the person seeking therapy. However, in order to receive a Medicare rebate, a GP needs to provide a Mental Health treatment plan under the Better Access To Mental Health Care scheme.
